This artwork is the final submission from the artist Barret Frymire for the ‘Humanity’ event by the Faerian gallery. The artist created this piece in 3 days, inspired by a prompt that was submitted by the public. In a unique twist, instead of being interpreted by an AI, this time the prompt was brought to life by a human artist. The entire creative process was livestreamed online and at the NFC Lisboa event.
Prompt by Roger Sandri
— ‘Elven warrior woman in dark studded leather armor. Wavy dark hair, sassy grin, wielding a long, curved silver blade with small copper runes etched in the blade and a black basket hilt.’
Was AI used?
— No
How is your final artwork related to the prompt?
— It is a lithe elven woman with a smirk, drawing her blade. Mostly leather armor with a few steel ornaments, and a snowy background for atmosphere.
Why did you choose this prompt?
— It was the first to catch my eye.
Explain more your creative process:
— I usually spend a few hours gathering references, then pick a few poses and sketch them out. For this one, I opened my “fantasy elf” folder, found a pose, and ran with it. Elves are kind of my niche within a niche, so I’m always ready to paint some knife-ears.
