The Gallery
Faerian is the first online gallery dedicated to art inspired by imaginary worlds, featuring both digital and physical works from artists around the globe. Founded in 2022 by Cynthia Mayer, it has since presented the creations of more than 30 artists in five different countries: France (Paris), Italy (Rome), South Korea (Seoul), the United States (New York), and Portugal (Lisbon). The gallery seeks to encompass all forms of art related to the world of imagination, including digital (non-AI) works, physical pieces, music, jewelry, writing, and more.
Faerian’s collections transcend traditional boundaries between artwork, artist, and observer by inviting visitors to shape the narrative of each collection, rather than simply viewing completed pieces. Through immersive, participatory events, such as those developed for “Humanity” and “Darkness”, we co-create evolving imaginary worlds that reach beyond the gallery walls.
The Team
Cynthia Mayer
Founder and Art Curator
Cynthia founded the Faerian Gallery in 2022, inspired by the intersection of storytelling and visual art. During her early years writing fiction, she began collecting digital artworks that transported viewers into imaginary worlds, pieces created by talented artists whose work resonated with her creative vision. Recognizing the power of these artists to inspire others as they had inspired her, she decided to build a gallery to share their work with a broader audience.
Drawing from her experience in technology in the Silicon Valley and graduate studies at Duke University, Cynthia established Faerian Gallery as a space where imagination and narrative intersect. As both curator and artist representative, she connects artists who build deep imaginary worlds, with audiences eager to explore them, and take a step back from reality for a moment.
Now based in Seoul (South Korea), Cynthia works internationally to discover new artists that provide access to alternate imaginary realities. Through the gallery, she applies her understanding of creative writing and world-building to make imaginary art accessible to audiences worldwide.
