VEL LY

VEL LY, a Russian artist and illustrator currently based in Bali, Indonesia, is known for her vibrant and captivating illustrations that blend traditional and digital art. With a degree in environment design and a background in architecture, VEL LY has been actively involved in the art industry since 2011.

VEL LY’s journey began as a private art teacher, guiding young teenagers in preparing for art school exams. Her passion for art led her to start accepting commissions in 2013, focusing on portraits and fashion illustrations. Her breakthrough moment came in 2016 when she was approached to work as an artist for a Dior event in Moscow. This opportunity catapulted her career, and she went on to work as an event illustrator with prestigious brands such as Bulgari, Givenchy, Jo Malone London, and Cartier, among others.

In addition to event illustration, VEL LY has been involved in various collaborations, hosted workshops, and delivered lectures. Her art is characterized by the experimental use of vibrant colors, textures, and mediums. She has developed a unique technique that combines the essence of traditional art with the versatility of digital art. She begins by creating drawings with colored pencils and watercolors on paper, which she then scans and enhances using digital programs. This process results in multiple versions of a single art piece, each with its own distinct charm.

A focal point in VEL LY’s art is the exploration of human faces and bodies. She aims to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of the human form through her illustrations.

Currently, VEL LY is concentrating on her own projects, continuing to innovate and push the boundaries of her artistic expression. With a decade of experience and a portfolio that spans across various forms of art, VEL LY is a dynamic and inspiring figure in the contemporary art scene.
