Marco Marin

Marco Marin, known as Ulmo8, is a fantasy illustrator and concept artist hailing from Mexico, with over 7 years of professional experience. Currently based in Canada, Marco specializes in creating enchanting illustrations and concept art that breathe life into characters, creatures, and worlds. His art is deeply rooted in fantasy, and he has a penchant for world-building and character creation. His illustrations often depict mystical beings and are imbued with a sense of magic and wonder.

Marco’s journey in the art world began in 2010 when he pursued a Licentiate degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico. His insatiable curiosity and love for fantasy led him to further hone his skills at Humber College in Canada, where he graduated with honors in Visual and Digital Arts in 2019. During his time at Humber College, Marco was recognized for his outstanding academic achievements and was awarded the Jamie Simmons Memorial Award.

Marco’s work is characterized by its rich detail, vibrant colors, and imaginative themes. He has a particular affinity for depicting fantastical creatures and characters, drawing inspiration from mythology, video games, and literature. His expertise spans across various mediums, including digital painting, sketching, and concept art.

Over the years, Marco has collaborated with various clients in the entertainment industry. He has created art assets and visual concepts for video game production, including character and environment design. His work has been featured in book covers, game assets, public art, and more. Notably, he has worked with Powerhouse Animation Studios and Gata Games, creating background and creature illustrations for television productions and video games. In addition to his commissioned work, Marco is an avid participant in art exhibitions and has received accolades for his contributions. In 2022, he was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Perception Digital Art Exhibition by Beaux Arts Gallery Brampton for his piece “Schism”.
