Andressa

Andressa, hailing from Brazil and also known as Pinwydd Studio, is a mixed media artist who has been passionately creating art since 2009. Currently residing in the enchanting region of Brittany, France, her work is deeply inspired by the fantastical realms of nature, creatures, faeries, and elf-folk. 

Her journey as an artist began in her childhood, where at the age of 6, she was enchanted by a song about a dwarf living in a magical garden. This early fascination with fantasy continued to grow, and by the age of 15, she was an avid reader of Lord of the Rings and began creating characters and stories of her own. 

Andressa’s insatiable curiosity led her through a diverse artistic journey. She has studied at various institutions including Escola de Música e Belas-Artes do Paraná in Brazil, Ars in Fabula in Italy, Schoolism, and Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Her studies encompassed drawing, etching, engraving, experimental ceramics, figurative illustration, mask-making, textile art, academic painting, and sculpture. Now, all of her experiences culminate in her mixed media practice, which is characterized by a deep love for experimentation. 

In Brittany, a land rich with magic and legends, Andressa feels more inspired than ever. The lush landscapes and local tales seep into her work, as she masterfully combines traditional and contemporary techniques. As Pinwydd Studio, Andressa invites viewers to join her in exploring stories both new and old, and to find delight in the physical manifestations of the extraordinary through her art. Her work is a testament to her unwavering passion and commitment to capturing the essence of fantasy and nature.
