Jeannine Penn

Jeannine Chanin Penn is an artist adept in both traditional and digital mediums, with over 30 years of experience. Currently residing in Los Angeles, and originally from New Jersey, Jeannine’s art is characterized by richly layered pieces that harmoniously blend design and fine art, exploring the subconscious and weaving stories through textures and materials.

Jeannine’s journey began in New Jersey, where she frequented NYC’s Soho galleries and the MOMA, drawing inspiration from artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Monet, Picasso, Peter Max, and Andy Warhol. She initially studied architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, before transferring to the University of Arizona to pursue graphic design and fine art, earning her BFA.

Her illustrious career includes serving as a Creative Director/Graphic Designer for renowned entities such as HBO, Grey Entertainment, and TWBA/Chiat Day. Throughout her career, Jeannine has received numerous accolades for her exceptional work. Her creative process is an exploration of the subconscious, improvisation, and destiny. Her paintings, originating from dreams and emotions, evolve organically. Starting with a seed of thought, she adds layers of paint and texture, incorporating diverse materials such as broken plates, film strips, and Japanese paper. This results in richly layered pieces that weave stories from her imagination to the viewer’s.
